"Filomantoo" emerged from the "Academy of Electronic Arts and Crafts" scholarship program held at "Plataforma Bogotá" - an interactive laboratory of the art, science and technology line of IDARTES, guided by Corazón de Robota in 2015. He displays the material and internal parts of electronic objects in miniature pieces: Rings, earrings and brooches; giving a new use to "obsolete" components of the 21st century and evoking digital mining, relating technology with information/data vanity; enhancing the value that this tool has as jewelry - coveted items that we wear on our bodies.

(Soldering with a soldering iron - tin on alpaca (object volume: ranges between 3.5 cm and 0.5 cm.)) Production: + of 150 unique pieces. Year 2016

“The body/territory is clothed in technology/we are gold.”

Techné / technology, what the Greeks referred to as a tool.

Understanding that a fork or spoon is part of the technology we witness to this day is key to this perspective; although it is not considered a permanent extension of our body like phones or nanochips, which are, this leads us to think of transhumanism as a point of interest regarding our nature and viewing it from a holistic perspective as a society made up of bodies/devices that emanate energy.

I developed the "Filomantoo" project, which consists of assembling colorful or striking electronic components into ring, earring, and brooch mounts, alluding to the concept of jewelry (something precious). These pieces contain data/information, either from us or, failing that, help to guide and transmit it. The reality is that current scientific development has led to nanotechnology being present in our lives, embedded in humanity itself—something small within us. The obsolescence of the technological devices we use today has occurred prematurely and rapidly, without humanity fully understanding how they work (we use them, but we don't know how they operate). It's like having to go to the doctor to find out how to cure what hurts (only a few possess this knowledge); the abyss of progress. The artwork “filomantoo” invites us to see from an external perspective, from the body that houses these technological products as extensions of our being, thus giving presence to transhumanism. The vanity of knowledge, of information, of care! is embodied in what I consider a treasure chest; we can think of ourselves and recognize ourselves as body/machine from the beginning of the species, given the characteristics of our organism and its techno-extensions and intentions.
